HeartstringHeartstring Quartet

Two renowned duos. Two gifted sisters. Two extraordinary guitarists. A multi-faceted, unique quartet...

Some of the most important names in Irish music, legendary guitarist Arty McGlynn, virtuoso fiddler Nollaig Casey and brilliant harper Máire Ní Chathasaigh, came together in 2008 to record with Britain's finest flat-picking guitarist Chris Newman. The resulting music crosses boundaries in a tour-de-force of world-class guitar-playing, sensuous singing, fiddle-playing of heart-melting lyricism and powerful, passionate harping.

Panorama Jazz Band

panorama jazzPanorama Jazz Band is a fabulous party band from the Big Easy, whose repertoire draws on the most exciting music from around the world:  the Caribbean rhythms of Martinique in the French West Indies; the exotic Klezmer and Balkan melodies of Eastern Europe, and the non-stop syncopation of New Orleans second-line.

By turns a funky jazz band, a dance band, and a swing orchestra, Panorama Jazz Band is a seven piece acoustic group featuring the instruments that have been used to get crowds dancing for centuries--clarinet, alto saxophone, trombone, accordian, tenor banjo, drums and tuba.

The Good Lovelies

Good LoveliesTHE GOOD LOVELIES are not your run-of-the-mill “all girl” band.  At a time when too many of us are affected by gloom, doom and recovering from recession, these three women are the perfect antidote.  Winners of the 2010 Juno (Canadian Grammy) for Roots Album of the Year and the New Emerging Artist Award from the Canadian Folk Music Awards—the Good Lovelies have made waves across Canada, and are coming to the U.S. in 2011-2012.

The aptly named Good Lovelies are CAROLINE BROOKS, KERRI OUGH and SUE PASSMORE, all of them best friends and refugees from solo careers.  Part folk-roots, part Western Swing, the Toronto-based trio relies on unerring three-part vocal harmonies, clever songs and, onstage, convulsively funny repartee drawn from a seemingly endless succession of comedic adventures on the road.

The Ruth Moody Band

Ruth MoodyTHE RUTH MOODY BAND is the latest solo project for The Wailin' Jennys' heralded soprano singer.  Ruth's first full-length CD is filled with songs of hope and longing and love, with a country/bluegrass flavor that perfectly suits her pure, high-arcing voice.  She is an artist of exceptional depth and grace. Critics have lauded her ethereal vocals, impressive multi-instrumentalism (she plays guitar, banjo, accordion, piano, and bodhrán), and her talent as a songwriter.

Ruth is a Juno Award-winning artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Founding member of the internationally renowned, Billboard-charting trio The Wailin' Jennys and former lead singer of the Canadian roots band Scruj MacDuhk (the band that would later become The Duhks), she has performed in sold-out venues around the world, made numerous critically-acclaimed albums, and has appeared more than a dozen times on the national radio show A Prairie Home Companion.

The Tannahill Weavers

Tannahill WeaversTHE TANNAHILL WEAVERS are Scotland's beloved musical ambassadors, with scores of recordings and countless tours over thirty years to their credit.  Originally hailed for introducing the mighty Highland pipes in a folk-band setting, the Tannies' concerts remain forever fresh to their fans—a blend of powerful instrumentals, ballads with three part harmonies, and on-stage banter that turns the space between the songs into a show of their own.

We will be representing the Tannahill Weavers exclusively at the Fine Arts booking conferences, bringing their Celtic spirit to Universities and Performing Arts Centers across America.

International Guitar Night

Lulo ReinhardtINTERNATIONAL GUITAR NIGHT is the longest-running, most successful “mobile guitar festival” in North America.   Each year, BRIAN GORE, founder of International Guitar Night, invites three new, internationally renowned guitarists to join him for tours of North America.  It is a special opportunity for them to share their latest original compositions, and to reach across cultural and musical boundaries to create unforgettable collaborations on stage.

For 2012-2013, Brian will be performing with Scotland's MARTIN TAYLOR, revered in Jazz circles for his smooth, chord melody style; SOLORAZAF from Madagascar, who plays unique rhythmic musical patterns, along with vocalizations and foot percussion, and GUINGA, Brazil's beloved singer/songwriter and guitarist.

In The Footsteps of Django

footstepsIn The Footsteps Of Django brings together the best of the new Gypsy Jazz masters of Europe—LULO REINHARDT, a third generation German master, whose group the Latin Swing Project combines Gypsy Jazz with Latin rhythms. LES DOIGTS DE L'HOMME, France's leading contemporary Gypsy Jazz group, stunning musicians with a great sense of flair and humor on stage. And NORIG GADJI, a French singer with a Celtic name and Catalan roots, and a gift for bringing out the full range of feelings in Gypsy music, who will make her American debut accompanied by the gifted SEBASTIEN GINIAUX on guitar.

Mick Moloney's "If It Wasn't For The Irish And The Jews"

MoloneyIF IT WASN'T FOR THE IRISH AND THE JEWS is a nostalgic look at the early days of Tin Pan Alley, when Irish and Jewish immigrants worked together to produce the songs that became the foundation of Broadway musical theater. Led by MICK MOLONEY, the National Heritage Award-winning musician/historian/narrator, with an all-star Irish band and the brass band of VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS, it is an evening of rollicking songs, and tales of camaraderie and competition among the aspiring songwriters of old New York.
