About Herschel Freeman Agency
After stints as a rock musician in LA, a bluegrass performer in Ann Arbor, and a country songwriter in Nashville, I started the Herschel Freeman Agency in Raleigh NC in 1980.
For more than forty years, we have been dedicated to setting up U.S. tours for innovative traditional musicians from around the world. Starting with bluegrass musicians, then specializing in Celtic music before expanding into Global Roots artists, our emphasis has been on acoustic music in all its variety and beauty.
For the 2025-2026 season, our roster encompasses Brazilian, Cuban, Russian, Australian and Italian musicians, along with West African, Japanese Taiko and Contemporary Folk groups from Canada and Native American, Hawaiian and Blues musicians from the United States.
